Baker Tilly International has named Chao Mu as Regional Director for its Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, effective immediately.
Chao has been with Baker Tilly China, the network’s largest member firm in the APAC region and second-largest in the global network, for six years in the role of International Affairs Officer.
In his new role as APAC Regional Director, he will work alongside Sara Jane Knox, Baker Tilly International’s Global Strategy Officer, to drive international business growth and develop the network’s services and capabilities in the region.
Sara Jane Knox said: “Last year, combined revenues of our network firms in APAC exceeded US$1bn, accounting for more than 20% of the network’s combined global revenues. A strategically important region, it is also hugely diverse – both culturally and economically.
“Our network firms recognise that continued success is dependent on growth and collaboration. Chao will play a crucial role in facilitating and amplifying the relationships upon which we pride ourselves, working with network firms to seek out strategic opportunities to further enhance capabilities and coverage.”
Andrew Heng, Baker Tilly International Regional Chair for APAC, added: “Chao’s experience working in Baker Tilly China to identify opportunities to support the firm’s growth and to assist clients in realising their own profitable growth strategies is strongly aligned to our global strategy of growth and creating value for all stakeholders. His experience will be invaluable, as we continue to focus on growth as a region.”
Speaking on his appointment, Chao said: “I am excited to be taking on the challenge of Regional Director. We are at a pivotal point in our growth journey, and I look forward to working alongside our network firms as we enter this next phase of development, and, together, face the opportunities that dynamic change within our market presents us with.”
